WORK

OUR

WORK

We are privileged to conduct research across a broad range of sectors on behalf of our clients.  From travel and tourism to finance, food and drink, charities, education and the public sector.

Below are some examples of how we have worked in partnership with clients across a range of sectors.

Jungle Green MRC
We support Jungle Green MRC across a wide range of services from online surveys to large-scale fieldwork management, data processing, coding and analysis.

Working collaboratively, we have successfully recruited and managed health panels for regional Integrated Care Boards. Each panel comprises over 1,000 members, reflecting the local population and representing diverse and vulnerable groups.

We also manage online stakeholder surveys for a number of Train Operating Companies (TOCs) and coordinate the booking of depth interviews to support qualitative exploration within the rail sector.

Mindset Research

We have supported Mindset Research for many years, particularly with projects for NFU Mutual.  This has included:

  • Qualitative recruitment for depth interviews and focus groups

  • In person interviewing at festivals and shows across the UK

  • Telephone interviewing and analysis for the long-running “Voice of the Farmer” project

  • Scripting of CATI and online surveys, coding and full data tabulations

We also support an ongoing financial mystery shopping programme, designed to evaluate and improve customer service within investments, savings, pension and life assurance.  This specialist project involves recruiting individuals who have a genuine need or interest in financial products, ensuring realistic and meaningful interactions.  We oversee the full process, from targeted recruitment, management and participant engagement from start to finish.

OUR

CLIENTS

Our clients are typically market research consultants and agencies who need a trusted fieldwork partner.  We value these collaborative partnerships, seeing ourselves as an extension of our clients’ teams.

We also work directly with companies and individuals who may not need a full-service agency but still require professional research support.

“Julie has contributed enormously to the success of Jungle Green. Her technical skills and assistance are invaluable, from data processing and multivariate analysis to online surveys.  She organises large-scale field operations with professionalism, accuracy and a friendly smile.  She has a natural flair for coding even the most specialist datasets.  Sounds too good to be true – but it’s absolutely true.”

Janice Guy, Managing Director, Jungle Green MRC

"Julie is a joy to work with and an absolutely integral part of our extended team.  She brings calm, efficiency and great judgement to everything she does, whether it’s managing complex qualitative recruitment, delivering reliable CATI fieldwork, or overseeing specialist projects like financial mystery shopping.

Julie has a real talent for finding the right people for the job, no matter how niche the brief, and always approaches each task with professionalism, care and good humour.  She just gets it - and gets it done.  We trust her completely and look forward to working with her for many more years to come."

FUN

FACTS

Ever wondered what keeps a fieldwork agency running like clockwork?
Here’s a peek behind the clipboard 📋….

iStock-1162593055 [Converted] copy.jpg
  • We’ve processed hundreds of thousands of survey responses (and yes, we still get excited about a clean data set)

  • Our team has worked everywhere from the high street to the highlands

  • We’ve recruited participants while dodging British weather in car parks, train stations and festival fields

  • We love a challenge: we once ran a survey in 6 different languages

  • We’ve drunk enough tea to keep a small village caffeinated

  • We still get a bit excited about a perfectly completed quota

OUR

TEAM

Taurus Research was founded in 2001 by Julie Ford and has evolved into a trusted partner for clients across the UK.  What began as a specialist data processing and analysis service has developed into a full-service fieldwork agency with national reach.

Today, we are a small but highly experienced team with more than 50 years of combined experience in the industry.  Our UK-wide fieldforce includes supervisors, recruiters and interviewers, all committed to delivering reliable and insightful research.

With over 25 years in the industry, Julie brings experience in both quantitative and qualitative research.  She spent 12 years at a Bristol agency before setting up Taurus in 2001.  Organised, honest and hard-working, Julie ensures clients’ needs are always met.

When not immersed in research, Julie is usually off on an adventure with her trusty sidekick Buddy, planning the next weekend escape with The City Tourers – or elbow-deep in her latest DIY project, tools in hand and Pinterest at the ready!

Sarah Blenkinsopp
Sarah joined Taurus Research in 2006 and, although now working on an ad-hoc basis following a move to the countryside, remains an important part of the team.  Her background as a legal secretary gives her a sharp eye for detail and a meticulous approach that’s invaluable in data processing and coding.  She also supports field administration.

When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her catching up with friends over a coffee or embracing the pace of rural life.

Janice Guy
Janice has more than 30 years’ experience in market research, Janice has worked primarily on the supply side, managing both qualitative and quantitative projects.  She founded Jungle Green MRC in 2000 and remains a valued client and associate of Taurus Research.

Janice loves catching up with family and friends, heading off on camping or cycling trips, and keeping sharp with cryptic crosswords – plus a weekly game of tennis to stay on her toes!

Fieldwork Team

Our fieldwork team includes a dedicated network of UK-wide supervisors who ensure each project runs smoothly and to the highest standard.

Locally, Jenny Anderson supports ad-hoc fieldwork projects by conducting data quality checks, monitoring telephone interviews and training, and carrying out back-checking to maintain accuracy.  She also helps source and co-ordinate our team of experienced telephone interviewers.

Binay Lakhanpal manages our integrated telephone system, ensuring it runs smoothly and remains fully compatible with Snap XMP survey software, supporting effective remote interviewers.

We also have a team of friendly and experienced remote telephone interviewers, particularly skilled at engaging with farmers.  Tracey Burton, in particular, is known for her warm manner and genuinely thoughtful conversations she has with participants.
